The designer, who knows WP very well, cannot gain access to weDevs for some reason but asked me to send the following note to you:

The problem seems to be that their plugin is rewriting the URL to edit a page or post. Typically, when you hover over the EDIT PAGE or EDIT POST link in the admin bar, you’ll see a URL like this…

domain.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=92&action=edit

…but, instead, even the typical WordPress admin URLs are being rewritten to look like…

domain.com/edit/?pid=2&_wpnonce=61ad683489

…and that’s why WP can’t find the page or post to edit.

Many thanks for the reply.

Yes, I am looking to edit a post​ (please find attached 4 screen shots).

Since we installed your fine userfrontend tool, when we attempt to
edit any *post
*or *page* using the “edit” button at the *top* of the dashboard page when
logged in, we are given the message: “I don’t know how to edit this post, I
don’t have the form ID.” (see attached images 1 & 2.)

The only way for us to edit the form is to use the dashboard backend
in the *left
sidebar menu* and edit from the selection of existing posts and pages.

I show in attachments #3 & #4 that we did use your tool to create a wpuf
form.

The problem is that all the old posts or pages *do not use a wpuf form* (we
have no need for the userfrontend on every page, and therefore we have no
other forms than the 1 we created to test the pro version of your tool that
we purchased to see if it can handle our requirements).

The question is, why do ALL the posts now demand a form_id even though *we
do not need to associate them with a form*?

Is there a default form_id we can set in the WordPress database somewhere
to allow us to edit our posts?

Do we need to create “stub userfrontend forms” with no elements, name them,
and then select one for every post? I mean, do we need to ALWAYS select
from the upper-righthand combo box for every post and page to allow us to
edit posts and pages?

I am having a hard time tracing how this works in the WordPress database
and I guess that I should trace through your code.

I hope this clarifies. Essentially, since we loaded your tool, we are
having issues editing old and new posts and pages. There are other
associated issues that are appearing as well, but I do not wish to confuse
things.

(I truly hope this works, as I wish to use the tool extensively, and was
even going to ask if you could do custom paid enhancement work for us [such
as building a display view for users who are
adding/editing/deleting/searching/filtering on multiple records, like
http://js.devexpress.com/WebDevelopment/DataGrid/. Otherwise, I will have
to do all form processing from scratch for a data entry application using
PHP and create my own plugin given the requirements of our system.])

Hello.

We are having the same problem since installing the pro pack. We only created one wpuf form to test. We have no others, as other posts and pages do not require forms and thus no form ids.

Is there a database entry we need to make in the WP database for existing posts and pages to allow us to edit the post or page without the form id?

Do we create a wpuf form with no objects to select for each post using the back-end dashboard (we have to use the back-end dashboard as the front-end “edit” option at the top of only generates the error message)?

Thank you for any specifics about the DB entry or how to retrofit without reinstalling WP.
