I would also like to display the file name when a user uplaods a file. But I would rather do it another way:

Please can you tell us how we can bind a function to a plupload event?

This will be very useful for other things too.

But in the mean time, there must be a way to do this using the action / filter hooks. Surely it isn’t very complicated

I am a developer myself, so I can do all the php myself. I just need a hint as to which variables to access etc. Please help!

I forgot to mention:

I also want to do this with guest post & auto user registration enabled.

So that when a guest user submits the form, the values from some fields are added to their user meta as they are being registered.
