Ansel Support, It's happened again. I can no longer see the main archive for WP User Frontend Pro listed in 'Available Downloads'. I only see the following: WP User Frontend Pro – wpuf-pmpro.zip WP User Frontend Pro – wpuf-bp-register.zip WP User Frontend Pro – wpuf-comments.zip WP User Frontend Pro – MailPoet WP User Frontend Pro – MailChimp WP User Frontend Pro – User Listing & Profile Is it possible you could rework something so I truly have an unexpiring license as what was available when I purchased it? Also, it would be beneficial if the following selection box were deselected by default in WPUFEP's settings when the plugin is activated: [x] "If enabled, default login and registration forms will be overridden by WPUF with pages below" That single setting sent my plugin archive's wp-admin logging page into an infinite redirect loop because it was turned on by default, but no page defined to complement the setting. If it were deactivated by default I wouldn't have had to put up with months of redirection loops. Cheers

Hello Ansel,

I can see that you have bought user fronted pro on 28-06-2013. All of our license is for one year. So your license expired now. You need to renew your license to get the recent updates or download again.

For the infinite loop in login page you have to create a page with the shortcode [wpuf_login] and set that to the settings of WPUF.

Thank you 🙂

Ask Tareq, he will know who I am, and that is not the case. When I purchased WPUFEP it was a lifetime license. I expect that to be honored.

Regarding the infinite loop, your solution would work fine, but why not just default the setting away from something that would cause an infinite loop without a page selected? That seems like a reasonable approach.

Here’s the site back then, showing unlimited updates:

http://web.archive.org/web/20130723103644/http://wedevs.com/plugin/wp-user-frontend-pro/#buyNow

I can provide a PDF of my receipt as well. Again, I expect the terms that were offered when I purchased it to be honored.

Hi Ansel, sorry for the trouble. Your license validity is life time, but as we have changed the model to 1 year support/update, somehow your account was affected too. I am reverting back that settings for you 🙂

Tareq,

Please don’t start with the ‘license validity’ nonsense. You and I both know that’s rubbish given the sales page I linked to in my last reply as well as our exchanges on Advanced WordPress.

I will not do business again with any company that disavows lifetime licenses they sold in the past, only because it’s inconvenient to keep them going now. Take my support tickets for example: I submitted one for a timeout issue (which improved your code) and two others to ask why I could not download the latest version. Last year’s ticket was the same as the most recent one and now it’s clear that you switched the license model then.

I’m pretty annoyed you have decided not to grandfather in the people who first supported you and as I see it, it’s the ethical thing to do. That said, fair warning, I’m going to blog about this and you will see some tweets about it. I’m sure you would love to see things like this quietly die behind the walls of a support login, which is exactly why these things need to bubble up out of their confines so people understand how some companies treat their customers.

Cheers,

Ansel

Life time means as long as you are our customer and our business exists, you will get update and support. From a custom point of view thats great. But think from a business perspective, it’s not a viable business model.

You bought the plugin because you love life time license, we are not moving that away from you. Existing customers will have the life time license active, it just affects the new customers.

I am not sure why you are mad, just because we changed the model? Whats wrong with changing business model, I am not entirely sure. Customers purchased the license after new the model introduced, they saw it as it is right now and they purchased agreeing that. Only one problem is that new customers won’t get the life-time plan.

I’m sure you would love to see things like this quietly die behind the walls of a support login, which is exactly why these things need to bubble up out of their confines so people understand how some companies treat their customers.

Previously our support threads were accessible only behind login, but now you can view the threads as a guest as well. About treating the previous customers, I believe we are doing it as nothing changed.

Tareq,

I am very sorry but I missed the second sentence in your reply that said you were going to fix the setting. I was ticked because the same thing happened last year (there was a ticket about it) and this year your support team told me I needed to buy the plugin again. I apologize for misunderstand and I have removed all the tweets about it except for the two where I apologize:
