Mahi Hi guys After being told the only way to solve the shipping options was to purchase the addon, it still has not resolved the problems. What we are looking to do is for vendors to each have a default shipping option on each order. We tried Woocommerce default shipping option - This did not work when purchasing via 2 Vendors as it only added 1 shipping total and not two. We then tried the shipping addon, but it is now adding multiple shipping per product. I know this is what the addon is called but I do not understand why per order is not possible. In the UK most companies have set shipping rates per order and this is what we are trying to set up. So here is the example. Vendor A has a product that costs £20 and his default shipping rate per order is £7 Vendor B has a product that costs £40 and his default shipping rate per order is £10 So the customer purchases both items from the vendor it should charge £77. If the customer purchases 2 items from Vendor A it is charging £14 which will start making shipping very expensive. Please let me know how I can set this up so that each Vendor has a per Order shipping rate. This is massively important. Also there is no information regarding the addon here: http://docs.wedevs.com/category/add-ons/dokan-add-ons/per-product-shipping/ Thanks

Problem with physical products , shipping price also depends on product’s weight, height, length etc. If people order 4 items it may become headache for sellers and it may lead them to loss because of shipping cost.

You find a right point here. What do you suggest in this situation? How can we overcome it?

Hi Mahi

Best thing is to have an option for set shipping per order for vendors.

Without that single option it genuinly renders the software unusable for us and is critically important.

There is no way a seller would have individual postage based on every single item in their inventory, so I personally feel that option is redundant.

Could you please ask the devs if this is possible. We will need to somehow have a Vendor per order shipping method available.

Let me give you another example.

Our Vendors will be selling aquatic coral.

To post one coral costs the vendor £9.99, 2 corals cost the same, 3 corals cost the same, 4 corals cost the same. They can ship about 15 corals all for the same price as 1 coral.

The way it currently is that the postage on the order would almost be £150 because it is charging per item making it way to expensive.

So they need a single order postage option.

I have been impressed by the software so far but can’t understand how something as simple and massively important has not been included or thought of.

I would like to join this request, this Problem is very important for me too.

My proposal is the seller have the option to specify the shipping cost from the weight for each product.
Therefore the customer could set a maximum weight for a shipping price.

e.g.: <1kg = 3$,
1-10kg = 5$,
>10kg = 9$

I think this is easy and fast to implement in your Addon “per product shipping”

I was just testing with the shipping again for single shipping price per order and seems like it calculates the product shipping price based on a single order.

In my testing, I created a product with price $10 and set the shipping price to $10. Then I added the product with quantity 5. So the total price is: $10 * 5 + $10 = $60. So it seems normal to me.

At least what I can say is, I never multiplied the shipping price with quantity when I wrote the plugin. So I am not sure what I am missing here.

Hi Tareq

I have tested this again.

The problem comes if you buy 2 different products. I will take some screen shots of what I mean.

Thanks

Hi Tareq

Ok here are the screenshots.

Please let me know if I have set this up incorrectly.

Every product I have is set the same as this screen shot

So I have now purchased 3 items with the result of the bottom screenshot.

So instead of the software charging the customer £9.99 for the entire order it is charging that 3 times.

I have not tested across multiple vendors yet.

Just to recap.

I am trying to do the following: Each vendor will have a standard shipping rate per order.

SO if I buy 3 items from vendor A it should charge the standard £9.99

If I buy 1 item from vendor A and 1 Item from vendor B it will charge 2 x 9.99 on checkout.

Please let me know if I have set the shipping up incorrectly.

I can confirm that the woocommerce shipping is disabled and I am using the Dokan shipping addon.

Many thanks

Right, I have tested with only 1 product. So that makes sense.

I’ll try again tomorrow and will see if I can find any solution 🙂

Hello Jason,

Here’s a thought, so you are saying that even if you ordered 3 different products from the same seller, the shipping will be $9 instead of $27. Thats understandable. So you have to set the same price for all of your products.

What if you have a product that needs to have $15 shipping. So someone buys a $9 shipping product with a $15 shipping product. What happens then?

For your particular usage, that might fit in. But as it’s a generic shipping plugin, I am not sure if we should give an option like this. Let me know your thoughts.

Hi Tareq

Here are my thoughts.

In the UK – you can ship virtually anything for about £10.

We ship hundreds of items through our other business per month and have a standard postage that covers 99% of the inventory.

This is why I feel having the option for a standard Vendor postage rate is a good idea and will add usability to your software:

I am in the aquatics business. To give you an idea: If our Vendor were to ship 1 coral it would cost him £10. 2 corals would cost £10 – all the way up to about 15 or 20 coral. The fact that the shipping addon adds shipping each time, basically renders the software unusable for us because it makes the product too expensive because of shipping being added each time

It is also not viable trying to break the postage down into smaller amounts either – say £2 per product, because if someone only orders one coral you will massively lose out on shipping.

We have been in the internet sales business for almost 5 years now and shipped thousands of orders. If we have a product that will require very different pricing, we price the sales price accordingly so that a higher sales price and a lower postage price of £10 will not lose money.

Please consider adding this option to the shipping pluggin. It will give many potential customers a very valuable option and allow us to successfully launch the site.

Many thanks

Hi Tareq

GREAT update 🙂

The shipping update is exactly what we were looking for so many thanks to you and your team for taking the request and making it a reality.

I will run a few more tests this weekend, but I think it is working perfectly and exactly as one would expect it too.

I have tried the following.

Multiple purchases from Vendor A – 1 shipping charge added to cart.
Multiple purchases from Vendor A and B – 2 shipping charges added to cart.

Thanks again for the update.

Jason
