Plugin slowing down server

Jamie	Hello, I am running into an issue where your plug-in is slowing my server down considerably. It is taking between 8-15 SECONDS to get licence information on your server. This is completely unacceptable and is creating a very bad user experience for my clients newly launched site. Here is the app metrics to show you what I mean. Here is the trace specifics that is slowing down my server. Is there anything I can do about this?

Tareq Hasan	The update check only happens in admin panel, not in frontend and it checks after each 12 hours. So may be thats not a problem?

Jamie	Hello, If every 12 hours my clients admin panel slows to 15 second load times they will not be happy. I understand that you server had an issue but what if this happens again or you have DNS issues again? Can we get an option to disable the automatic check? Thanks.
